Thank you for encouraging me. Just when I'm at my worst in months, just when I was feeling my most inadequate, you proved to me that you are there!
I was praying for a friend and 2 words came to my head - take heart and I did a google and found this phrase below-
Psalms 27:14.
It says - Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
My application bible explains this as - David knew from experience what it meant to wait for the Lord. He had been annointed at age 16, but didn't become King until he was 30. During the interim, he was chased through the desert by jealous King Saul. David had to wait on God for the fulfillment for his promise to reign. Later, after becoming King, he was chased by his rebellious son, Absalom.
Waiting for God is not easy. Often, it seems as though he isn't answering our prayers or doesn't understand the urgency of our situation. This kind of thinking implies that God is not in control or is not fair. But God is worth waiting for. Lamentations 3:24-26 calls us to hope in and wait for the Lord because often, God uses waiting to refresh, renew, and teach us. Make good use of your waiting times by discovering what God may be trying to teach you in them.
I think it resonates with what she is gg through. She felt strongly about clinching the new job and quitted her old one only to be turned down. She was very upset and I could understand her disappointment cos some time ago, it was like that for me too. It felt like a big black hole that I couldn't get out of. God really loves her to offer words of comfort to her. And at the same time, encouraged me!
