Yesterday's interview with the designers was traumatic. No, not that they weren't nice, they were great, very informative. Just that if you were a common girl like me, whose idea of a good read for fashion consists only of CLEO and the rare S'pore edition of Harpers Bazaar, you'll be traumatised by the french words rolling effortlessly off their tongues too. Was struggling with the spelling- not too good.

I think it's time for me to start investing in a few copies of Vogue and if possible, a French dictionary. God. The interview left me without an inch of doubt that if there was ever a sign of budding fashionista in me, it was completely strangled to death with a bold(!), opulent(!), haute couture necklace made of semi-precious stones yesterday.

Also, there was also the small matter of summoning all the thick-skinness in me and nod solemnly when the designers mentioned (quite a no. of times) that Singaporean women cannot carry off what they design and are extremely slow in picking up the latest fashion. I happen to be S'porean and female. Never realised that interviewing can be such an ego-comsuming task. But well, they are (very) honest, creative, patient (in moving things around so we could take pics and explaining certain terms and what some famous designers are famous for) and passionate about what they do- what more can I ask for as a journalist? Meanwhile, I guess there's still a long way to go for me to be more well-versed in the area of fashion.

Anys, Newsroom tmr?

Most importantly, are your hands itchy? Do your ears crave for the symphony of tiles brushing against one another, pongs, ga-ng, and the climax of hu-le! or zi muo? Hehe... if yes, then why not we... heehee.
